Georgia Veteran Trauma Project
Welcome Home Veteran!
The Georgia Veteran Trauma Project offers state of the art treatment for PTSD in a confidential, compassionate and cost-effective setting.
Welcome Veteran and thank you for your service.....  The Georgia Veteran Trauma Project is an association of licensed mental health professionals in Georgia with specialty training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). EMDR is an established and evidence - based psychotherapeutic approach proven very effective for resolving Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Phantom Limb Pain (PLP).  Realizing that veterans have had difficulty finding a curative treatment for combat related PTSD, and knowing that EMDR can facilitate deep healing, we want to make EMDR accessable to you.
We hope that this listing will help those of you who could benefit from a short term course of EMDR treatment for combat related PTSD. Research suggests that the sooner your PTSD is treated, the less likely you are to develop more serious complications. We encourage you to apply for and use the mental health programs provided for you by the VA Medical Centers. However, if VA-PTSD program waiting lists, geographic distance from a VA or other reasons lead you to delay your treatment, it may be desirable for you to contact one of the EMDR professionals on this list.
The professionals listed on this site have agreed not to turn away any veteran for financial reasons - all have agreed to provide EMDR at no cost to you if you so choose.  Low cost sessions are also available and all therapists have agreed to search with you to find a workable arrangement to be compensated for their services if you so prefer. All arrangements are made between the individual therapist and the veteran. This list is simply a vehicle to assist veterans in finding a trained EMDR professional who can help. We are affiliated in no other way.
